Open Call Auditions Announced for

Intensive Summer Dance Training at

Cornerstone Performing Arts Center

Fitchburg, MA—March 9, 2009—Cornerstone Performing Arts Center announces an open call for auditions on March 21 and May 2 for its Summer Dance Intensive program, which will be conducted July 6 through 17 for intermediate, advanced and pre-professional dancers ages 13-22.  An audition is required for this two-week dance intensive with professional training in ballet and modern technique. Modern techniques include Horton, Taylor and Contemporary. Morning classes will include technique and conditioning, taught by Ellen Guglietti and Amanda Doyle. The afternoon program offers students the opportunity to create composition and choreography and to learn repertory from Ellen and Tony Guglietti. The repertory choreography will include modern and break-dancing elements to expose students to contemporary style and versatility of dance.

Students who audition must be serious about dance training and should expect to work hard in this discipline each day of the intensive. The intensive will conclude with a performance of the students on the Fitchburg Common, Friday, July 17, 6 p.m. The performance will be a free event for the community.

The summer dance intensive will run Monday through Friday, July 6-17, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Auditions will be conducted Saturday, March 21, 2 to 4 p.m., and Saturday, May 2, 4 to 6 p.m. Interested students can register for an audition on line at www.cpacfitchburg.org  or by phone at 978-345-2915. The audition fee is $15. The $500 tuition for the intensive and the completed registration for the program are due no later than June 29.
